ROYAL OAK, Mich. – The Detroit Zoo is officially introducing a new king penguin chick.
Ernest Shackleton was born on August and recently turned 7 months old. The happy ball of fluff weighs over 35 pounds, which is more than his parents weigh.

Ernest Shackleton is living behind-the-scenes at the Polk Penguin Conservation Center for now. He’s expected to join the rest of the waddle after he finishes molting and has the protection of waterproof feathers.
The zoo said it will post more updates on Facebook.
