DETROIT – For one day only visitors could touch a human brain and learn how the brain and body work together at the Michigan Science Center.
Brain Day was on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at the Michigan Science Center in Detroit. Local 4′s Priya Mann held a brain and described it as “firm, a little squishy, and what I also learned is that if you spread it out it would take about the size of a pillow case.”
The event was in honor of Brain Health Awareness Week. The science center collaborated with Wayne State University for a hands-on exhibit that tested visitors with brain-teasing games and let them see an actual human brain.
Wayne State psychology professor Tom Fischer said children and adults are fascinated by the brain and how it works. He said the brain is the most complex thing we know about in the universe.
