LIVONIA, Mich. – Chicago-based restaurant chain Portillo’s is planning to open its second location in the Metro Detroit area this year.
Portillo’s opened its first Michigan location in Sterling Heights in 2021. It’s second location in the state will be in Livonia.

The new hot dog and sandwich shop will open in the busy Middle Belt Road and I-96 area. If you know, you know. The storefront will be near Meijer and Outback Steakhouse, at 13004 Middle Belt Road.
Guests can expect to enjoy Portillo’s signature menu items like Chicago-Style Hot Dogs, Famous Italian Beef Sandwiches, Char-Grilled Burgers and Portillo’s Famous Chocolate Cake.
Portillo’s has been around since 1963, serving up Chicago street food at more than 70 locations across several states.
An official opening date for the Livonia location has not been announced.
