M-59 reopens following deadly hit-and-run in Oakland County

Part of eastbound roadway closed Friday morning

ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. – Part of M-59 (Hall Road) was closed Friday morning after a driver hit and killed a pedestrian in the area, according to a source.

The road was reopened to traffic as of 12:10 p.m. on Friday, March 15, law enforcement reported.

Eastbound M-59 was closed at Crooks Road in Rochester Hills on Friday morning. A person was killed in a hit-and-run in the area sometime around 7:45 a.m.

Authorities still hadn’t confirmed much information as of this writing. It’s known that the person killed was a female, but their entire identity was not known. Their body was reportedly lying in the road following the crash.

The type of vehicle involved in the crash was not immediately known. The driver of that vehicle drove away from the scene.

The roadway was closed in the morning for a police investigation, and reopened several hours later.
