Officials say that medics arrived on the scene and transported Kinskey to a Metro Detroit hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

More complete facts and evidence will be placed on the record in court at the preliminary examination, but the Detroit Police Department’s investigation led to Charles’ arrest on Saturday, March 16, 2024.

The 24-year-old has been charged with felony murder and first-degree child abuse.

He was charged and remanded on March 17 in 36th District Court.

The probable cause conference is scheduled for March 27, and the preliminary examination is scheduled for April 3.

“Baby Kinsley lived a very short life of pain. The alleged facts are unbelievably tragic in this case. The injuries inflicted on this nine-month-old baby are too numerous to fathom.”
