SOUTHGATE, Mich. – A 30-year-old woman from Riverview is facing three felonies for her alleged role in a deadly head-on collision in Southgate.
According to authorities, the crash happened just before 10 p.m. Saturday, March 16, on Allen Road, near Orchard Street. Police believe Alyssa Taylor Usher was driving southbound on the northbound lanes when she struck a northbound vehicle that had five people in it.

A 44-year-old woman from Port Huron died at the scene. The four others were hospitalized for their injuries, including a pregnant 25-year-old woman who reportedly miscarried as a result of the crash.
Usher was arrested at the scene. She was charged Tuesday, March 19, with one count of operating while intoxicated causing death and two counts of operating while intoxicated causing serious injury.
Her bond was set at $1,000,000/10%. She is expected to return to court for a preliminary examination hearing April 4.
