SHELBY TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Police in Shelby Township have arrested three out-of-state people in connection with a series of vehicle break-ins and thefts.
According to authorities, police received four different reports of vehicles having their windows broken and personal items stolen from within on March 14. Surveillance video from the scene reportedly showed two suspects arrive in a silver Mazda, break into the vehicles and then leave.

Police identified the vehicle down as a rental from Florida and with the help of Troy police, the rental was found in Rochester Hills. Detectives then followed a different vehicle that left the home and saw the same suspects breaking into vehicles in Rochester Hills in the early morning of March 15.
Police said the two suspects were arrested and the stolen items were recovered. This arrest led to a search warrant being executed in Rochester, where three more suspects were detained and police found more stolen property and the silver Mazda.
Danarius Travon Young, a 28-year-old from Florida, Chauncey Javon Franklin, a 21-year-old from Florida, and Kayln Marie Croom, a 34-year-old from Tennessee, were arranged on Tuesday, March 19.
The three were all charged with conducting criminal enterprises, conspiracy to commit possession of burglar’s tools, conspiracy to commit identity theft, three counts of conspiracy to commit breaking and entering a vehicle with damage, three counts of conspiracy to commit stealing a financial transaction device and four counts of conspiracy to commit malicious destruction of property.
Young was given a $250,000 cash/surety bond, Franklin was given a $200,000 cash/surety bond and Croom was given a $100,000 cash/surety bond.
