INKSTER, Mich. – Investigators are piecing together what led to the shooting death of a 60-year-old man in Inkster.
The incident occurred on Friday (March 22) night, causing Inkster police and Michigan State Police to put up crime scene tape and close off the 25000 block of Stanford Street.
Neighbors told Local 4 that a 60-year-old man was shot and killed inside the home.
The motive is unknown, but neighbors say he lived at the house with a younger woman and man.
When police arrived, neighbors say the woman walked out with her hands up; they saw her handcuffed and put in a squad car.
“Automatically, I thought it was maybe electrical because we did have a power outage not too long ago, and snow has been here, so I didn’t think nothing of it” said neighbor Kayla Nash.
No one heard gunshots Friday evening, but they did last night, which has the people who live on this street wondering if the shooting happened Thursday night instead.
“But then when I saw her come out with her hands up and then I saw the police, I just knew I smelled death in the air,” Nash said.
So far, there has been no official word from the police.
