SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – An Oakland County restaurant is extending its final run through April before it closes after 22 years in business.

Bacco Ristorante, in Southfield, will officially shut down on April 28, according to its chef Luciano DelSignore, who also owns Casa Pernoi and Bigalora. The restaurant was originally supposed to close at the end of March.

DelSignore says high demand for events during the NFL Draft in Detroit prompted the decision to extend the final weeks of service.

Bacco has been serving up Italian cuisine along Northwestern Highway in Southfield since 2002.

DelSignore said he’ll be embarking on “new horizons,” but said details aren’t ready to be revealed.

“Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey”, said Chef Luciano. “The impact you’ve had is immeasurable, and I am forever grateful.”
