DETROIT – Detroit Public School police officer Dajuan Dickerson, 33, was found guilty of false report of a felony and lying to a peace officer in a jury trial.

The incident occurred on March 7, 2021, at 9:08 p.m. at a church in the 14100 block of Evergreen Road in Detroit when Dickerson called 911 to report a carjacking of his vehicle.

Officials say the Detroit Police Department found no evidence to substantiate Dickerson’s claims.

Prosecutor Kym Worthy charged the 33-year-old with falsely reporting the carjacking on May 14, 2021.

Dickerson is scheduled to be sentenced on April 24, 2024, at 10 a.m.
