WARREN, Mich. – A Macomb County man is facing charges after he tried to convince a high school girl to get into his car, police said.

The Cousino High School student said she was walking home from school Wednesday, April 3, 2024, in the area of Shawn and Jenny drives when Kevin Regan, 35, of Warren, pulled up in a Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Regan tried to convince the girl to get into the Jeep, police said. She recorded some of the interaction on her cellphone, so Regan drove away, officials said.

Warren detectives identified Regan as the driver and took him into custody without incident, they said.

Regan is charged with two 93-day misdemeanors: disturbing the peace and improper license plate.

He pleaded not guilty during arraignment and was given a $5,000 bond, cash/surety. He’s not allowed to interact with minors, if released, and he must wear a GPS tether, police said.

Detectives said they’re worried that Regan might have been involved in other unreported interactions with children in Warren. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 586-574-4707.
