What we know after 3 shot, 1 killed at party in Oakland County

24-year-old Pontiac man killed

PONTIAC, Mich. – One person was killed and two others were injured in a shooting at a parking lot party in Oakland County.

The shooting happened at 12:26 a.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at the North Hill Farms Apartment Complex on Cherry Hill Drive in Pontiac.

Oakland County deputies said an argument broke out at a party in the parking lot of the apartment complex. That argument escalated, and shots were fired.

When deputies arrived, they found three men in their 20s had been struck by gunfire. A 24-year-old Pontiac man was pronounced dead from a gunshot to the head.

The two other men were taken to McLaren Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries to their legs, police said. They were treated and released.

Oakland County deputies are asking for the public’s help identifying the gunman.

“We are looking for assistance in locating the individual(s) that committed this cowardly and despicable violent act by shooting into a crowd,” Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said. “The only way we can stop senseless violence is when people speak up.”

Officials are offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information that leads to an arrest.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP. Callers will remain anonymous.
