CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Three people were arrested in Macomb County after police found assault rifles, cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl during a traffic stop and a search.
In March, officials began investigating a drug operation linked to narcotics throughout Macomb County. Investigators identified the drug dealer and began watching his movements.
On April 4, 2024, Warren police officers said they saw Brian Allen Mathews, 33, of Detroit, and Thomas Phillip King, 34, of Clinton Township, loitering in a car near hotels. When officers tried to pull them over, the car sped off.
Police said they chased the car and watched the men throw drugs out the window. Officials said they stopped the pursuit after confirming the identities of the men.
The drugs thrown from the car were identified as 100 grams of cocaine and 9 grams of fentanyl, police said.
While monitoring a home linked to the men in Clinton Township, police said they saw Lisa Doss Lawrence, 56, of Clinton Township, walk out carrying assault rifles and two large duffle bags, according to authorities.
Lawrence got into a car and left the area. Warren police tried to stop the car, and Lawrence initially fled before pulling over at 8 Mile Road and Groesbeck Highway, officials said.
She was taken into custody without further incident.
Inside the car, police said they found two assault rifles, 151 grams of crack cocaine, 120 grams of meth, and 200 grams of fentanyl.
When they searched the Clinton Township home, officials said they found “bulk quantities” of ammunition and drug packaging materials.
