DETROIT – Funeral services for Thomas Gumbleton, a Catholic bishop in Detroit, were held on Saturday, April 13, at the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament in Detroit.
Gumbleton was known as a voice against war and racism and an advocate for labor and social justice. He died Thursday at the age of 94.
His death was announced by the Archdiocese of Detroit, where he was a clergyman for more than 50 years.
