6 arrested after stolen car crashes into multiple garages, Westland cop car, light pole

Six people, including four children, were taken into custody after a stolen car crashed into multiple garages, a Westland police car, and a light pole while fleeing cops.

Westland officials said they were called around 2:20 a.m. Thursday, April 11, 2024, to the 350000 block of Hunter Avenue because someone was trying to steal a car.

When police arrived, they said they saw a stolen white Kia Optima try to flee, but it crashed into multiple garages, causing a lot of damage.

‘Toys R Us, bruh’: Why many aren’t impressed with Detroit’s new ‘Hollywood’ sign

The city of Detroit installed its own version of the “Hollywood” sign before the NFL draft, and, well, it’s fair to say some people aren’t impressed.

The sign was unveiled along eastbound I-94 between Central Street and Cecil Avenue, a collaboration between the city, DTE Energy, MDOT, FHWA and the Fairmount Sign Company.

It took several weeks for the letters to be built and then a few days for them to be installed, but now that it’s up, some people aren’t thrilled with the look.
