DETROIT – The annual summertime Ford Fireworks show in Downtown Detroit may just be the best in the country.
The Ford Fireworks have been nominated as one of the “best places to see fireworks” by USA Today in its 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards 2024. As of Tuesday, April 16, the explosive annual Detroit show ranked No. 1 out of 20.
Viewers can vote for their favorite firework display once per day until 11:59 a.m. on May 13. The so-far second-best place to see fireworks was Addison Kaboom Town! in Addison, Texas. The Navy Pier in Chicago stood in third place on Tuesday. Click here to vote.
Produced by The Parade Company -- which is also behind Detroit’s annual Thanksgiving parade -- the Ford Fireworks take place each summer around the Fourth of July in Downtown Detroit. The sky along the Detroit River is lit up by the more than 10,000 pyrotechnic effects that are held on three separate barges.
This year’s fireworks show is scheduled for 10 p.m. on Monday, June 24. We’ll have live coverage from the fireworks on Local 4 News, Local 4+ and ClickOnDetroit.
