Michigan State University police identify 7 suspects in hate crime incident

Officials say group assaulted 2 people due to victim’s orientation

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State University police are identifying seven people accused of participating in a hate crime.

The incident occurred on Monday (April 15) near the campus library.

Investigators say the group assaulted two people, possibly due to the victim’s sexual orientation.

Evidence is being turned over to the Ingham County Prosecutor’s Office for charges.
