DETROIT – Downtown Detroit’s Ford Fireworks show came in at No. 2 in USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards 2024.

The annual summertime show was nominated as one of the best places in the U.S. to see fireworks. For a while, the Detroit show dominated in first place -- but it ranked at No. 2 out of 20 as of Tuesday, April 30.

In first place on Tuesday was the Navy Pier in Chicago, which initially ranked in third place when the voting began in mid-April. The Concert in the Sky at the Amelia Earhart Festival in Atchison, Kansas had moved into third place, with a Minnesota show in fourth, and a Texas show in fifth.

Viewers can vote for their favorite firework display once per day until 11:59 a.m. on May 13. Click here to vote.

Produced by The Parade Company -- which is also behind Detroit’s annual Thanksgiving parade -- the Ford Fireworks take place each summer around the Fourth of July in Downtown Detroit. The sky along the Detroit River is lit up by the more than 10,000 pyrotechnic effects that are held on three separate barges.
