FERNDALE, Mich. – A popular Oakland County restaurant is set to reopen after being forced to close for storm damage to its building.

Voyager in Ferndale has been closed since a nasty line of storms hit the area on April 17. Damage to the restaurant’s location forced them to shut down. The roof from another business was ripped off and landed on their building, along with other storm-related damage.

Now, Voyager says its ready to reopen on Wednesday, May 1.

"After the storm on 4/17, these last two weeks have felt like two years. Our first real experience with co-mingling insurance companies, public utilities & community stakeholders has been a doozy (and it’s ongoing), but we’re ready to come out firing. We’re still sorting out a few items, like our half-working HVAC system (we hope to have it all set by Wednesday) & smashed-up dumpster gate, but other than that we’re ready to get shuckin’ again,” Voyager said in an email to fans.

Voyager is a fun spot to grab some oysters and other great seafood small plates, and beyond. They’re located at 600 Vester Street in Ferndale.
