1 killed when car crashes into Oakland County building, causing fire

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – One person was killed when a car crashed into an Oakland County building, causing both to catch on fire.

The crash happened at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2024, in the 27000 block of West 8 Mile Road in Southfield.

Police said a car struck a building in that area, and both the car and the building caught fire.

A 33-year-old Redford man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials continue to investigate the crash.
