ADRIAN, Mich. – Dee Warner’s brother has been in the gallery watching intently as his brother-in-law is charged with murder.
Warner’s husband, Dale Warner, was charged with murder after her April 2021 disappearance, though her body was never found.
From the beginning, Dee’s brother Gregg Hardy suspected Dale and hired private investigators to help uncover what happened.
Testimony during the preliminary exam on Wednesday and Thursday (May 2) began to show what investigators have uncovered during the investigation.
“The authorities are using a lot more stuff than what we had,” Hardy said. “They have the ability to subpoena and get records such as were presented today in court.”
An engineer from General Motors and a data extraction expert from Michigan State Police testified Thursday about the alleged tracking activity on Dee’s vehicles leading up to her disappearance.
“Why would you be tracking your wife all the time, and if you were tracking her, why were you tracking her,” Hardy said.
Hardy’s niece and nephew, Dee’s adult children, also testified about the business struggles and personal life of Dee and Dale leading up to and after the disappearance.
“It’s creating the story of what happened at that horrible time, and that information is there, and it has to come out little by little,” Hardy said.
The preliminary exam will decide whether there’s enough evidence to take this case to trial.
The preliminary exam resumes Friday at 8:00 a.m.
