Police search for witnesses in encounter between boy, stranger in Plymouth Township

An elementary school-aged boy said he was approached by a man in Plymouth Township.

The alarming “stranger danger” incident occurred on Friday (May 3) in the Trailwood Road subdivision when a man approached the boy, asking if he “wanted to go for a ride,” officials said.

The boy told authorities that he had been riding a scooter on Trailwood Road between Riveredge Drive and Creekwood Circle when the stranger approached him.

The man, who the boy described as driving a red sedan, was wearing sunglasses and was in his mid-30s.

The Plymouth Township Police Department has been unable to locate any witnesses or surveillance footage that captured the incident.
