EASTPOINTE, Mich. – A man was stabbed six times by his girlfriend at a Macomb County home while he collected his belongings to leave because she caught him cheating, police say.
The attack happened around 10:15 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2024, in the 24000 block of Valley Avenue in Eastpointe.
Officials said a woman in her late 20s stabbed a man in his late 20s at least six times -- once in the leg, twice in the back, and three times in the stomach.
Police said the woman was angry because she caught the man cheating. The stabbing happened while he was gathering his belongings to leave the house, officials said.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital. He is stable.
The woman was also taken to the hospital for a cut on her pinky finger.
Once police complete their investigation, the case will be handed over to prosecutors for review.
