Video shows 2 men set Detroit house on fire with Molotov cocktail

Detroit police still searching for men

DETROIT – Two men were caught on video setting a Detroit house on fire by busting open a window and tossing a Molotov cocktail inside.

Police said the men went to a house in the 16800 block of Fielding Street at 10:13 p.m. May 9, 2024.

Video shows them breaking a front window, lighting a Molotov cocktail, and throwing it through the broken window.

They ran away on foot.

Nobody was home at the time of the fire. The first floor of the building was damaged, officials said.

Police are searching for the two men. Anyone with information is asked to call the Detroit Police Department’s Arson Unit at 313-596-2940, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.
