Man who escaped Detroit police custody at hospital has been arrested

DETROIT – The man who escaped police custody at a Detroit hospital over the weekend has been arrested.

Officials say Cortez Rabb, 22, who was wanted for felony offenses after fleeing from the police on Sunday, May 19, was arrested Tuesday (May 21) afternoon.

Police said the 22-year-old man escaped custody at Henry Ford Hospital in the city’s New Center neighborhood.

Raab told officials while arrested that he had medical issues, which is why he was taken to the hospital on West Grand Boulevard.

His medical history is still not known, but police said he escaped custody while they were placing him in a hospital bed.
