MEMPHIS, Mich. – A popular Facebook group helped catch a Macomb County man in the act of sending graphic messages and pictures to someone he thought was an 11-year-old girl, police said.
Derrick Glenn, 36, of Memphis, originally began communicating with Sean Meadows, of Big Country’s Predator Exposure -- a popular social media group that targets child predators.
Meadows was posing as an 11-year-old girl and talked to Glenn on social media and via text message. Glenn sent the fake girl graphic messages and images, according to Macomb County deputies.
When Meadows sent evidence of these conversations to Memphis police, they reached out to the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office for help with the case.
Officials went to Glenn’s apartment on Henderson Street on May 18, 2024, and took him into custody.
Police said evidence against Glenn includes a USB flash drive, a cellphone, and a video received over email.
Glenn is charged with:
- Child sexually abusive activity -- a 20-year-felony.
- Accosting children for immoral purposes -- a four-year felony.
- Three counts of using computers to commit a crime, with varying degrees of severity -- a 20-year felony, a seven-year felony, and a one-year misdemeanor.
- Indecent exposure -- a one-year misdemeanor.
Glenn was arraigned at 42-1 District Court in Romeo and given a $50,000 bond, cash/surety, no 10%.
He is being held at the Macomb County Jail.
