FARMINGTON, Mich. – A former basketball coach at Farmington High School has been sentenced for sexually assaulting two students.
Jerremy Thompkins, 43, of Detroit, was found guilty of sexually assaulting two high school boys, ages 15 and 16, at his Detroit home between August and October of last year.
At the time, he was the boys’ junior varsity basketball coach. He was fired Oct. 9, 2023, when school administrators began looking into a report from a concerned parent.
He was arrested Oct. 24, 2023, and charged with one count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.
Thompkins was found guilty on both charges. He was sentenced Friday, May 24, 2024, to 4-15 years on the second-degree charge and 1-2 years on the fourth-degree charge.
The sentences will run concurrently, and he received credit for 36 days served.
