7 people charged in alleged Metro Detroit human trafficking ring

3 people were arraigned

The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office has charged seven and arraigned three people who were allegedly part of a human trafficking ring in Metro Detroit.

The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office has charged seven and arraigned three people who were allegedly part of a human trafficking ring in Metro Detroit.

Chun Jin, Chengai Jin, and Zhanghuan Peng were arraigned in Shelby Township District Court Wednesday evening where bond was set at $100,000 cash/surety, no 10%.

All three have a Probable Cause Hearings scheduled for Wednesday, June 12, at 9 a.m. in Shelby District Court.

The Macomb County Sheriff’s Department began an investigation into the human trafficking ring in February, which led to search warrants being executed on Wednesday, May 29, by the Macomb County Sheriff’s Department, Shelby Township Police Department, Sterling Heights Police Department, U.S. Border Patrol, and the FBI at 25 Health Spa in Shelby Township, Healing Spa in Sterling Heights, a Macomb Township residence and a Shelby Township residence.

The U.S. Border Patrol arrested six people on immigration violations. The Macomb County Sheriff’s Department arrested seven people.

The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office charged:

Chun Jin, age 48, of Macomb:

  • Prostitution/pandering, a 20-year felony
  • Prostitution/ accepting Earnings, a 20-year felony
  • Keeping a house of prostitution, a five-year felony
  • Conspiracy to commit prostitution/keeping a house of prostitution, a five-year felony
  • Aiding and abetting, a 93-day misdemeanor
  • Disorderly person-loitering at house of Ill Fame, a 90-day misdemeanor

Chengai Jin, age 54 of Macomb, and the spouse of Chun Jin is charged with:

  • Prostitution/accepting earnings, a 20-year felony
  • Prostitution/pandering, a 20-year felony
  • Keeping a house of prostitution, a five-year felony
  • Conspiracy to commit prostitution/keeping a house of prostitution, a five-year felony
  • Disorderly person-loitering at House of Ill Fame, a 90-day misdemeanor

Jorge Ruiz-Diaz, 22, of Utica, was charged with possession of a controlled substance less than 25 grams, a four-year misdemeanor.

Yeong Sil Kim, 63, of Utica, was charged with accosting and soliciting prostitution, a 93-day misdemeanor, and disorderly person-loitering at House of Ill Fame, a 90-day misdemeanor.

Zhanghuan Peng, 50, of Utica, was charged with:

  • Transporting a person for prostitution, a 20-year felony
  • Prostitution/accepting earnings, a 20-year felony
  • Keeping a house of prostitution, a five-year felony
  • Conspiracy to commit prostitution/keeping a house of prostitution, a five-year felony
  • Aiding and abetting, a 93-day misdemeanor

Jie Liang, 61, of Eastpointe, was charged with Keeping a house of prostitution, a five-year felony, and Lin Jun Zhou, 49, of Utica, was charged with accosting and soliciting prostitution, a 93-day misdemeanor.

“As we pursue justice against those accused of perpetuating prostitution, our foremost concern remains with the victims whose lives have been tragically impacted,” said Macomb County Prosecutor Peter J. Lucido.
