DETROIT – Trash pickup on Detroit’s east and southwest sides is delayed due to staffing issues with GFL.

GFL staffing issues have led to a delay in curbside trash pickup for a few days before the new trash hauler contract begins. The contract with Priority Waste is set to begin on Monday, June 3.

Residents are being told to leave their containers at the curb until they are collected. Tickets will not be issued to residents for leaving containers beyond their normally scheduled collection day.

How to contact trash hauler

East and southwest Detroit residents can contact GFL Environmental at 866-772-8900.

After June 3, east and southwest Detroit residents can contact Priority Waste at 855-927-8365.

Westside residents can call Waste Management at 844-233-8764.
