What police are saying about a drive-by shooting in Oakland County

Nobody hurt, 1 person taken into custody

WATERFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A home in Oakland County was targeted in a drive-by shooting overnight.

The shooting happened at 10:30 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2024, on Lochaven Road in Waterford Township.

Officials said a house on Lochaven Road was struck by several gunshots. They could see bullet holes in the front of the house when they arrived.

Police said nobody was injured in the shooting. They identified possible suspects during the investigation.

Detectives found the vehicle used during the drive-by and recovered a handgun and spent shell casings from inside that vehicle, they said.

A boy was taken into custody and is scheduled to have a hearing at Oakland County Probate Court on Friday afternoon.

Officials said the shooting was not a random act, but they continue to investigate and interview witnesses.
