5 injured in crash that caused ambulance to rollover in Detroit

At least 1 person sustained ‘significant’ injuries

DETROIT – Several people were transported to a hospital, at least one with significant injuries, after a crash involving an ambulance in Detroit.

Three vehicles were involved in a crash that caused an ambulance to rollover at around 11 a.m. on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at the intersection of Wyoming Avenue and Chicago in Detroit. The crash caused damage to one vehicle and caused the ambulance to rollover onto its side.

An EMS technician in the back of the ambulance was injured significantly and sustained injuries to their head, neck, and back, according to a supervisor. The other two people in the ambulance were in the cab and their injuries were less significant.

Officials said a total of five people were injured and were transported to an area hospital. The extent and status of their injuries is not available at this time.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
