Detroit man sentenced to 10 years in prison for deli parking lot robbery, shooting

DETROIT – A man who was shot in the chest while holding another man at gunpoint in the parking lot of a Detroit deli has been sentenced to prison.

Joshua Fordham, 30, was sentenced to 10 years in prison after pleading guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The shooting happened at 9:53 p.m. on Feb. 8, 2023, in the parking lot of Carmen’s Delicatessen in Detroit. Prosecutors said that Fordham followed a man out of the deli and into the parking lot where he held him at gunpoint and demanded his wallet.

The man had a concealed pistol license and shot Fordham in the chest. Fordham fired a shot back, but did not strike the man.

Fordham was a convicted felon at the time of the shooting and was prohibited from having a firearm.
