FLINT, Mich. – Constance Marie Roberts, 67, of Flint, was bound over to stand trial on four counts of embezzlement from a vulnerable adult of $100,000 or more and four counts of tax failure to file/false return/payment, marking the beginning of a significant legal process, after allegedly obtaining large sums of money and multiple vehicles from the victim.
Each count of embezzlement is a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison. The tax counts are felonies punishable by up to five years in prison.

Officials say Robers is alleged to have been in a long-term relationship with her victim, a married man of 20 years her age.
Throughout their relationship, the victim occasionally gave Roberts small gifts of money and property.
Robers is alleged to have begun taking advantage of the arrangement by obtaining large sums of money and multiple vehicles when the victim started to experience symptoms of cognitive decline.
Allegedly, Roberts completely drained the victim’s checking and savings accounts, which previously had a combined balance of approximately $3 million, between 2018 and 2021.
Additionally, Roberts is alleged to have failed to report the income on her Michigan tax returns.
