Livingston County woman accused of driving on drugs, without license, insurance during high-speed chase

HOWELL, Mich. – A high-speed pursuit across Livingston County ended Tuesday, June 4, with the arrest of a woman accused of driving under the influence of drugs and without a license or insurance

She also reportedly had multiple outstanding felony warrants for her arrest at the time.

According to authorities, it started in Brighton Township just before 8:30 p.m. when Livingston County Sheriff’s deputies attempted to stop a Ford F-350 due to an improperly affixed license plate that didn’t appear to be registered. A pursuit into Hamburg Township reportedly reached speeds exceeding 80 mph.

The Hamburg Township Public Safety Department managed to deflate three of the truck’s tires with stop sticks. The vehicle eventually came to a stop at the end of Old Road.

The driver, identified as a 48-year-old woman from Putnam Township, and a passenger were taken into custody.

The Sheriff’s Office said the woman is expected to be charged with driving with a suspended license, operating a motor vehicle without insurance, operating an unregistered motor vehicle, fleeing and eluding, resisting arrest, operating under the influence of drugs and possession of methamphetamine.

The passenger, identified as a 38-year-old man from Brighton Township, was lodged on outstanding warrants, but will not be charged in the pursuit.
