2 men arrested after traffic stop leads to pursuit, school lockdowns in Taylor

Men fled to an area behind Trillium Academy

The Federal Drug Enforcement Agency and Taylor police, with the assistance of several other agencies, made two arrests after a traffic stop near the Southland Mall/Trader’s Point area, which resulted in a large chase and two school lockdowns. (KPRC2/Click2Houston.com)

TAYLOR, Mich. – The Federal Drug Enforcement Agency and Taylor police, with the assistance of several other agencies, made two arrests after a traffic stop near the Southland Mall/Trader’s Point area, which resulted in a large chase and two school lockdowns.

The incident occurred on Friday (June 7) when the two men involved in the traffic stop attempted to flee the scene, but officials “Darted” their vehicle with a StarChase GPS tracking device.

Police say the men fled to an area behind Trillium Academy before getting their vehicle stuck.

The men attempted to flee the scene on foot and apparently may have been armed before they were arrested.

Taylor, Michigan State Police, DEA, Brownstown police, and others assisted during the incident, which included using four K9 units, helicopters, and drones and involved the lockdown of both Trillium and Gudith Elementary School in Brownstown.
