HURON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – A car was shot twice Wednesday morning when two drivers got into a road rage dispute on a Wayne County freeway.
The shooting happened at 7:25 a.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2024, on northbound I-275 near Sibley Road in Huron Township.
Officials said there was a “road rage situation” between two drivers on the freeway, and shots were fired. One person’s car was struck twice by gunfire, but nobody was injured.
Romulus police took the suspected shooter, a 28-year-old from Delta, Ohio, into custody. Michigan State Police troopers said they found a pistol in the 28-year-old’s car.
The other driver was in the police parking lot by the time Michigan State Police were called. He was released.
The freeway was closed temporarily so police could search for evidence.
