Swiftly establishing a perimeter around the area, law enforcement officials entered the fenced-in area and noticed the two men who fled out of the east side of the building in separate directions.

Officials said one of the men climbed over the fence and was arrested by an Orchard Lake Police Department officer.

In a display of seamless coordination, the West Bloomfield Police Department deployed their drone, leading to the second suspect’s location. He was found hiding in some nearby bushes and promptly arrested.

Officials said the school’s fire alarm was activated, and West Bloomfield Fire Department responded to the scene.

After gaining entry, it was determined that a fire was set in a third-floor locker, but thanks to the quick response of the West Bloomfield Fire Department, it was promptly extinguished, causing minimal damage.

Police say the two 20-year-old men used break-in tools to enter through a lower-level window.

Further investigation revealed that only two people were involved, and the act appeared to be a random incident unrelated to the controversy surrounding the vacant building, reassuring the public of their safety.

One of the 20-year-olds resides in West Bloomfield Township, while the other man is from Pontiac.

Both men were taken to the Oakland County Jail and charged with trespassing, breaking and entering, resisting, and obstructing.
