Oakland County man sentenced for targeting 2 women at different times in DTW parking garage

ROMULUS, Mich. – An Oakland County man has been sentenced for targeting two women on different days inside a Detroit Metro Airport parking garage.

May 14 case

Raymond Anthony Jackson Jr., 32, of Southfield, is accused of approaching a 45-year-old Ohio woman in DTW’s Big Blue Parking Deck around 8:40 a.m. May 14, 2022.

He led the woman to a vacant area and tried to sexually assault her, officials said.

He was charged with aggravated indecent exposure and kidnapping.

May 17 attack

Around 7:30 a.m. May 17, 2022, Jackson is accused of approaching a 34-year-old Westland woman as she was parking her car in the Big Blue Parking Deck.

Officials said Jackson grabbed the woman’s hair and threw her to the ground.

He slammed her head on the concrete several times before assaulting her, according to police.

The woman fought back and screamed, and Jackson eventually fled, officials said.

He received additional charges of assault with intent to commit great bodily harm, two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, and two counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Sentencing

On Tuesday, June 11, 2024, Jackson pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree criminal sexual conduct.

As part of the plea deal, he was sentenced to three and a half to 15 years in prison, with credit for 742 days served.
