Police seek information regarding fatal hit-and-run of 59-year-old woman in Detroit

DETROIT – The Detroit Police Department is seeking information regarding a fatal hit-and-run of a 59-year-old woman.

The woman was transported to a Metro Detroit hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

The incident occurred on Thursday (June 13) at 3:40 p.m. as the woman was crossing the street in the 13800 block of Gratiot Avenue when an unknown driver of a black Ford Edge hit her.

Officials said the driver fled after the incident. The vehicle is believed to have front-end damage due to the accident and a spare tire on the rear passenger side.
