Mass shooting at Rochester Hills splash pad

Nine people were injured, including two children, when a man opened fire on a splash pad in Oakland County on Saturday.

The shooting happened just after 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, at the Brooklands Plaza Splash Pad at 1585 E. Auburn Road in Rochester Hills. Police believe the shooting was “random” in nature. The suspect has been identified as a 42-year-old white man from Shelby Township.

Detroit Zoo welcomes 14-year-old southern sea otter named Kit

A 14-year-old southern sea otter named Kit now calls the Detroit Zoo home.

In January 2010, Kit was found stranded and alone in Morro Bay Harbor. She was only five weeks old and the U.S. Department of Fish and Wildlife deemed her unable to return to the wild.

Kit spent most of her life at California’s Monterey Bay Aquarium. At just 11 weeks old she became the youngest sea otter to be visible to the public in the aquarium’s history.

How officials caught man trying to sneak cocaine through DTW with last-minute flights

A special agent with the Department of Homeland Security said officials were investigating Woodrow Campbell, of Saginaw, and the possible transportation of drugs.

A criminal complaint filed June 8, 2024, centers around a flight from Los Angeles to DTW on June 7, 2024. But Campbell also has a prior history of bringing narcotics on flights, according to the complaint.

Trump challenges Biden to a cognitive test but confuses the name of the doctor who tested him

Donald Trump on Saturday night suggested President Joe Biden “should have to take a cognitive test,” only to confuse who administered the test to him in the next sentence.

The former president and presumptive Republican nominee referred to Texas Republican Rep. Ronny Jackson, who was the White House physician for part of his presidency, as “Ronny Johnson.” The moment came as Trump was questioning Biden’s mental acuity, something he often does on the campaign trail and social media.
