DETROIT – You can catch free outdoor movie screenings at Campus Martius Park in Downtown Detroit this summer.
The lawn at the centrally-located park will transform into an outdoor movie theater with a big screen for the annual summer Movie Nights in the D series. Starting June 19, anyone is welcome to visit the park and catch a film on Wednesdays starting at 7 p.m.
Movies will range from classics to recent blockbusters, including last year’s “Barbie” movie. Moviegoers are allowed to bring their own chairs and blankets to the screenings. Popcorn will be available, officials said.
Here’s the 2024 movie lineup at Campus Martius Park:
- June 26 – The Super Mario Bros (G)
- July 10 – The Fifth Element (PG-13)
- July 17 – Paw Patrol: The Mighty Movie (PG)
- July 24 – Spanish Movie Night | Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End (PG-13)
- July 31 – School of Rock (PG-13)
- Aug. 7 – Some Like it Hot 65th Anniversary (PG-13)
- Aug. 14 – Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes (PG-13)
- Aug. 21 – Kung Fu Panda (G)
- Aug. 28 – Barbie (PG-13)
There will also be live entertainment and giveaways before some of the Wednesday night films, officials said, though it wasn’t clear for which screenings.
