Video: Molotov cocktail thrown at Detroit home during shooting

$500 reward offered for information

DETROIT – Police are asking for the public’s help to identify three people wanted in connection with an arson and shooting on Detroit’s west side.

It happened June 7 at a home on Appleton Street, just north of Seven Mile Road, near Telegraph Road. Police said the three suspects approached the house and started a fire before two of them fired guns at the building and ran off. The third person reportedly went to the side of the house and threw a Molotov cocktail at the side window before running away.

The fire damaged the first floor of the home. No one was home at the time and no one was injured.

Anyone who recognizes the three or has any information is urged to contact the Detroit Police Department’s Arson Unit at 313-596-2940 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.

A $500 reward has been offered for information in the case. Tips can be made anonymously. Case number 2406070405 must be included in the tip.
