Officials said she added that they were driving north on I-75 near mile marker 93 in a maroon Malibu.

Oakland County dispatch notified the Detroit Regional Communication Center (DRCC) that a woman was texting 911.

The DRCC said they continued to update Troopers on the 911 call inside the vehicle before Troopers conducted a traffic stop on Lahring Road.

Officials said they gave updates from the open line, overhearing the 43-year-old man who was driving say that he wasn’t getting out of the car.

Troopers made contact with the driver, and he gave him his information. Officials said that while interviewing the woman in the front passenger seat, she requested to exit the vehicle.

Once she got out of the Malibu, she told Troopers that the gun was located under his seat.

Once the woman was safe with the Troopers, the driver and the remaining two people inside the vehicle were ordered to exit the Malibu, which all three complied with.

The 43-year-old man was arrested for domestic assault. Officials said they located a Walther 9mm pistol on the drive floor of the Malibu and seized it.

Officials said the woman refused transportation to the hospital after receiving treatment while on the scene.
