Oakland County deputy killed on the job: Funeral, reward info here

Bradley Reckling shot, killed last weekend

ROCHESTER, Mich. – Funeral services have been scheduled this week for an Oakland County deputy who was killed in the line of duty last weekend.

Deputy Bradley Reckling, with the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, was shot and killed on Saturday, June 22, while following a suspected stolen SUV in Detroit. Officials said the SUV suddenly stopped, suspects got out, and fired multiple shots at Reckling.

Reckling, who was working undercover, was taken to the hospital where he died the following Sunday. Detroit police were still investigating what happened. Officials said arrests had been made, but no one had been arraigned on charges as of Tuesday.

While the investigation continues, funeral services have been scheduled. Services for Reckling will be held at the Auburn Hills Apostolic Church on Squirrel Road in Auburn Hills on Friday, June 28. Visitation will start at 10 a.m., and the funeral service will be at 3 p.m.

Reckling leaves behind his wife, Jacqueline, who is pregnant, and his three daughters. A GoFundMe fundraiser has been set up for the family, and had raised over $230,000 as of Wednesday. Other charities were raising money for the family, including through the sheriff’s office.

The sheriff’s office, along with Pixley Funeral Home in Rochester, created a memorial in Reckling’s honor, where people can pay their respects.

In addition to becoming a detective, Reckling rode as a motorcycle unit officer. His bike and gear were displayed behind ropes, and flowers were piling up by Tuesday.
