Emergency motion protects Marilyn Monroe’s Los Angeles home as historic landmark

The house, located in Los Angeles’ Brentwood neighborhood

The former home of Marilyn Monroe has officially been designated as a Los Angeles landmark.

Los Angeles City Council unanimously voted on Wednesday (June 26) to preserve the Hollywood starlet’s home in the 12305 block of 5th Helena Drive, saving it from demolition.

The house, located in Los Angeles’ Brentwood neighborhood, is not just a house; it’s a piece of history.

It’s where Monroe lived and, sadly, where she passed away, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire and captivate us.

City council also approved an emergency motion to design the residence as a historic building.
