CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – An Oakland County man who decided to buy a lottery ticket at the last minute ended up winning more than $446,000.

The 43-year-old man bought a Fantasy 5 ticket at the 7-Eleven at 41110 Hayes Road in Clinton Township.

He matched the numbers from the May 28 drawing: 07-16-24-29-31.

“I usually play Mega Millions and Powerball, but when I was at the store, I made a last-minute decision to purchase a Fantasy 5 ticket,” he said. “A few days later, I was at the same store and people were talking about how a big Fantasy 5 winner was sold there. I scanned my ticket, and that’s when I knew I was the big winner. The excitement in our house has been through the roof.”

The man went to Michigan Lottery headquarters to claim his $446,571 prize. He chose to remain anonymous.

He said he plans to place money in his children’s college funds and invest.
