TYRONE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – The body of a missing Genesee County man was found Thursday in a private lake at the edge of Livingston County.

The body of Austin Berger, a man in his early 30s, was found Thursday, June 27 in Marl Lake in Tyrone Township, just south of Fenton. Berger, who was identified by police as “vulnerable,” had been missing from Fenton since Sunday, June 23.

A fisherman reportedly noticed Berger’s body in the water. Our chopper footage showed authorities at the scene Thursday as a body floated near a dock.

The Genesee County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the body found is Berger, and that he appeared to have accidentally drowned. Police also said there were “no indications of foul play.”

Berger’s glasses were found on shore on Tuesday, June 25. In an earlier missing person alert, the sheriff’s office said Berger was known to walk the areas of Owen Road, Downtown Fenton, and Silver Lake Parkway.

Authorities were still investigating what happened. No other details had been provided at this time.
