Special tribute underway for Dr. William Pickard in Detroit

Family and friends are at the Charles H. Wright Museum for a special tribute

DETROIT – Dr. William Pickard was known as a prominent Detroit business leader, becoming one of the city’s first Black franchise owners of a McDonald’s restaurant. He died earlier this month at the age of 83.

Visitation at Swanson Funeral Home ended Friday (June 28) around 5 p.m.

Family and friends are at the Charles H. Wright Museum for a special tribute.

Pickard’s funeral is on Saturday at Hartford Memorial Baptist Church.
