Man involved in Howell tattoo shop shooting faces multiple charges

Officials say the shooting was not connected to Balloonfest event

HOWELL, Mich. – Jeremy Michael Heath, 48, of Clarkston, was arraigned in the 53rd District Court in Howell on three counts in connection with a tattoo shop shooting.

The shooting occurred on Friday (June 28) at 5:30 p.m. in the 104 block of West Grand River Avenue when 46-year-old Sean Thompson was making threats at Metro Studios Ink.

Officials say Heath fired one shot, striking and killing Thompson.

Heath has been charged with carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent, felony firearm, and carrying a concealed weapon.

The 53rd District Court Magistrate set bond for $200,000.
