LIVINGSTON COUNTY, Mich. – Eastbound Grand River Avenue near Lake Chemung in Genoa Township will be down to one lane as Troopers conduct a thorough investigation into a traffic crash involving a carjacked vehicle.

Officials say Ingham County Sheriff’s Department deputies attempted to stop a vehicle on Tuesday (July 2) for a traffic violation.
Michigan State Police say the vehicle driven by a 60-65-year-old man from Fenton fled, and deputies terminated the pursuit.
Officials say the driver, while in Stockbridge, carjacked a white Chevy Z-71 pickup, implying that he had a weapon.
Troopers located the vehicle in Fowlerville on Grand River Avenue. Troopers and deputies from Livingston County initiated a pursuit on Eastbound Grand River Avenue.
Near Owosso Road, deputies from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Department deployed spike strips, which deflated the driver-side tires.
The vehicle continued on Eastbound Grand River Avenue at a high rate of speed.
On Eastbound Grand River Avenue near Lake Chemung, the driver struck a Lexus SUV with two occupants. The driver was arrested on the scene.
The occupants of the SUV were transported to Sparrow Hospital in Lansing for minor injuries.
The driver was transported to Sparrow Hospital for medical clearance and will be charged with the original charges at the Ingham County Jail.
Charges will also be sought in Livingston County as well.
